Madrid want transfer fee, not a loan

Tottenham have held talks with Real Madrid today over a possible transfer for Gareth Bale, claim the Daily Mail.

With agent Jonathan Barnett having already ruled out a loan move, Madrid are reportedly keen to ensure a transfer fee from Spurs.

Bale would also likely have to accept a significant wage cut if he were to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

Tottenham among clubs missing out

Hertha Berlin have agreed a deal with AC Milan for striker Krzysztof Piatek, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked but the Bundesliga side made a permanent offer, with Spurs apparently only willing to offer a loan.

Piatek is expected to fly to Germany in the coming hours.
